Overview

By: Olivia Davis

I have had no experience with ePortfolios, so I wasn’t even sure where to begin. As recommended by professor Oesch-Minor, I used the Demi Watson interior design template. Each tab goes to a separate writing project.

On the home page, I introduce myself, and give a brief overview of each project. I decided to introduce myself so that readers can put a name and face to the person behind the site and writings.I keep my introduction short and simple, just a few sentences about myself as a student, since that is who I want my readers to know me as. I use hyperlinks to ease my reader’s access to information.

The internal hyperlinks take the reader from the home page to the other tabs on my page. The external links take the reader to other resource sites. Some examples of this include a link to the documentary I wrote my film review on, and a link to the CDC for more information on Covid, which is what my immersion experience is on.

My images connect to my writings. Some examples include an image of the film’s poster to go along with my review, and images of the covid virus and masks to go along with my feature style narrative.

My design is fairly consistent across the pages. I used Enriqueta font and a font size 18. I placed my images and pull-out quotes throughout the page to keep the reader’s eyes focused and pull them down the page. I also chose to keep a plain white background, so there wouldn’t be any distractions.
